On January 10, 2017, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority a sound mark for the "Skee-Wee" call. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority not only becomes the first not-for-profit and Greek-lettered organization to secure a federal registration for a sound mark, but the sorority is also the only registrant to register a sound mark for association services, i.e., membership. #AKA1908
